PERSONALITY: There’s no doubt about it, Alex is a bit of a mystery. He holds his cards close to his chest and it’s difficult to ever know what he’s thinking. He comes across as cheeky and a bit of a deviant in nature with a promiscuous past, but the real Alex – whose real name is actually Theodore – is rarely revealed to anyone. The only people who do really know him are his immediate family and direct work colleagues with the Secret Service. It’s his highly coveted job with the SS that has mostly made him the way he is, but on the exterior is every bit Dr Alex Carter, a paediatrician who loves to laugh, joke and pull pranks. There are two sides to every story and Alex/Theodore is the epitome of this metaphor.

BIO

Theodore Xavier Darcy was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on April Fools Day 1979 to Susan and Louis Darcy. He was the second child in the family, younger brother to Alasdair Darcy, and later became a middle child when little sister, Angelica arrived. Tragically, Theodore’s older brother was killed in the September 11 attacks. He was a fireman for one of the first teams that reached the World Trade Center and he was inside the building when it collapsed. His death devastated the family but they have slowly come to terms with the loss and Theodore used it to fuel his determination to succeed in his own career and make some difference to the world with his life.

The family remained in Boston until Theodore (nicknamed Teddy by his family) was accepted to Columbia University in New York when he finished school. Teddy, always harbouring an intent curiosity, reached a crossroads in his life when it was time to start college. He took on a massive workload by signing up for Med School and soon graduated with a major in Criminal Psychology. However, by the time he had his MD, his attention span was shifting once again and he chose to do his internship in Pediatrics.

It was during his internship that he started inevitable researching careers that could allow him to encompass both his medical and criminal experience. He joined the FBI as a Criminal Psychologist when he finished his internship but was eventually recruited to the Secret Service to join a massive taskforce investigating an international drug ring with connection in the government. Teddy was recruited to the taskforce because of his medical qualifications and trained with view to go deep undercover as Dr Alex Carter at Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital to investigate links to the recently re-opened case of the attempted murder of Dr Lachlan Campbell in December 2007. The SS gained intelligence to suggest that the shooting of Lachlan Campbell in the grounds of Princeton Plainsboro was not as open and shut as it first seemed with much more sinister roots than a simple case of stalking.

Theodore took on the life of Dr Alex Carter at the beginning of March 2009 and starts his first day undercover on the taskforce as Senior Attending Physician in the Pediatrics Unit of Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital on Saturday March 7th. His partner in the taskforce is none other than Special Agent Marcus Fraser, who is heading the New York division of the taskforce.
